Crisp green apple matched with fresh plum, buttered toast and nutmeg all greet the nose on arrival. Some liquorice root, coal dust, lime cheesecake and vanilla essence all bring up the rear. Eventually some notes of rolling tobacco, dried oregano and dusty workshops all appear. Water brings jelly beans of the white variety. Brambles, blackcurrant liqueur, caraway and a big bowl of fresh muesli dusted with cinnamon. The palate is sharp on arrival, some rather serious streaks of assorted citrus fruits, lychee, black pepper, green olives, umami paste and heather. With reduction we get wet gravel, furniture oil, a few mineral notes and a smooshed up Oxo cube to boot. A big, barley sugar sweet finish ensues.
