An attractive, indulgent sweet smoke reminded us of smoked chocolate truffles, smoked doughnuts and smoked honey. One Panellist mentioned multi-pastel-coloured cocktail cigarettes which drew a blank from the rest of us! To taste this was creamy, evoking Madagascan vanilla pods with the delicate sweet smoke of campfire s’mores and fluffy peanut butter pancakes. Following reduction we moved into a malt barn to enjoy cream crackers, caramelised white chocolate and Wensleydale cheese accompanied by a fruit cake. It was surprisingly cakey on the palate, as white chocolate and pecan cupcakes, and a coffee and walnut battenberg, were all washed down with a caramel cappuccino.
